In U.N. Squadron, the aim is to eliminate the enemy, who have gathered around the Allied airspace of "Area 88", in a series of scenarios based on military aircraft. You choose one of three pilots, each with different abilities in damage repair, weapons handling and piloting, and take on the enemy in a series of challenging missions. The player starts with the weakest aircraft, the F8E Crusader, which can only be armed with a very basic range of weapons. But by completing various missions, it is possible to amass enough money to buy better planes that can be equipped with more powerful weapons.
